Elma CERT, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization and offers American Heart Association courses. Depending on the course, we can teach up to 18 participants at a time. Please see below for course descriptions, hours, and required donation. Donation includes cost of text book and AHA certification card. Non-Healthcare Provider
- Heartsaver First Aid – Designed to meet OSHA regulations, this course covers first aid basics, consisting of the most common life-threatening emergencies, how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.
- Class is 2 hours in duration and requires a $30/person donation.
- Heartsaver CPR AED – This course will teach you to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until more advanced care arrives to take over. The course also covers adult choking and naloxone.
- Class is 4 hours in duration and requires a $50/person donation.
- Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED – This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements and covers first aid basics and CPR and AED skills for adults, children, and infants.
- Class is 6 hours in duration and requires a $70/person donation.
- Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens – This course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials.
- Class is 4 hours in duration and requires a $45/person donation.
Healthcare Provider
- Basic Life Support – Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals’ understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.
- Class is 4 hours in duration and requires a $50/person donation.
